dc.description.abstract Sanskrit literature is biggest among works. It can be classified in to various parts such as philosophical texts, dramas, poets and simile and prosodic. In the process of revealing the real and correct meaning of some context, the simile occupies an important place. It has been used in numerous ways to denote exact meaning of above mentioned work.th utility of smile is emphasized by many scholars and used it in their literal works. The range of the simile is broadly interpreted in poetical works such as prativastupama (the simile supplies an exterior incident) nirnayopama. (The simile which infers some concepts for conveying real meaning)I propose to discuss about the simile by paying special attention to Sanskrit literature en_US
