Abstract:
The research is conducted using the TOE framework, with the primary objective of determining company adoption of e-government. Support from top management is the independent variable. At the same time, the current study's dependent variable is the adoption of e-government. The relationship between top management support and egovernment adoption is examined using trust as a moderating factor. Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling was used to test the study's hypotheses. Primary data were collected from 170 top management executives of Algerian petroleum companies via a postal questionnaire. SPSS version 26.0 and PLS-SEM 3.3.3 were used to analyze the questionnaires. In summary, the findings indicate that top management support has an effect on the adoption of e-government by Algerian petroleum companies. Surprisingly, when trust as a moderator was included, the relationship between top management support for e-government adoption remained unchanged. When the association between each dimension and the effect of the moderating factor were examined separately, mixed results were discovered. This study on the impact of top management support on e-government adoption adds novel knowledge to the body of knowledge as well as to practice. Notably, top management support is critical for adopting e-government as a decision-making mechanism for increasing the level of e-government implementation. It is critical for managers, as well as other organizational hierarchy members, to assist and promote the necessary conditions for increased e-government adoption.
