Abstract:
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected many sectors including education. Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM) has decided to close all schools due to the pandemic and the learning process has been changed from class-based learning to home-based learning. Home-based learning has become a tough routine for teachers and also for the students. This study examined how photographic images can be used as a tool to deliver information to the students and how photographic images affect academic performance during homebased learning. A qualitative method has been used which is an in-depth interview with 15 primary students from local schools in gathering information related to the effectiveness of photographic image in academic performance. Data were analyzed and three major themes emerged from the discussion. The first theme is with the use of photographic images, students are more comprehends the critical subject such as math's and science. The second is a photographic image with colors that is more attractive to the students and helps a student to comprehends the topic easily. The last theme emerged by using photographic images together with narrations, it will capture students' interest and heighten students' focus during home-based learning.
