Influence of Mahayanism on Sinhalese literature

Abstract

Mahayana and Heenayana are two branches of Buddhism. Since Anuradhapura period, Sinhala literature was influenced by Theravada Buddhism. Occasionally Mahayanism also had some influence. By the help of some books we can see this difference.
