The internet is the widest information network in the world and Information is released to it on a regular basis. As a result of this there is an information explosion in this electronic world which makes it difficult to retrieve relevant information quickly. To make maximum use of this information and to avoid dissatisfaction while looking for relevant information, the user should be familiar with searching techniques. The use of search techniques help people to retrieve relevant information quickly and also helps the user to focus on the search accurately. Although there are various kinds of searching techniques Such as Boolean searching, parenthesis, phrase searching, truncation, wild card and plurals, the students dont appear to make use of these searching techniques. The problem this research addresses is that. |
