Tamil diasporic perceptions of post-war reconciliation in Sri Lanka: with special reference to diasporic portrayals recorded in social media.

Abstract

After the end of the civil war in 2009, Sri Lanka has arrived at an important historical phase with highly felt need for efforts in peace-building. Among such efforts, involving the Tamil diaspora in post-war reconciliation is often identified as a significant aspect (Potters, 2010). In addition, research has shown that Tamil diaspora play an important role in shaping the discourses on post-war Sri Lanka (Asia Report N� 186, 2010).
