Sri Lanka Library Association: a review of the activities and the contribution to the library services in Sri Lanka

Abstract

Sri Lanka Library Association was founded in 1960 and incorporated by the law No. 20 of 1974 of the National state assembly and amended by the act No.7 of 2004. Its distinctive activities include promotion of the library services and conducting professional courses. The aim of this article is to reveal its beginning, structure and services.
