Abstract:
In 1903, The great train robbery film directed by Edwin S. Porter introduced the theory of
editing which is considered as a turning point of the world film history. Editing techniques
introduced David Work Griffith in 1907, is using for five decades without any fundamental
changes.
The foremost task is to cut celluloid and assemble. Them together which is called film
editing. Television and computer technological inventions made a considerable contribution
for the upliftmen of Linear and nonlinear editing; Linear editing was introduced after
the invention of the television while nonlinear editing was backed by the invention of
the computer. Although editing seems difficult in early years, with the advancement of
technological development, cut, mix, fade because easy task with introduction of new
technology, the paper will accepted by a majority of critics that new technology is a tool of
minimizing the professionalism of editors. Primary data were collected through interviews
from media professionals. Study of the film different phrase has been used in order to fulfit
the requirement of secondary data.
Contrary to this view, the paper tries to the above statement are not true, the study identifies
that this depends on the appetite of the audience. This really does not a failure of the
creativity of the editor.
